Esther Passaris relayed her concern during a press conference on the August 9, 2017, at the Caramel Lounge ABC Place, after NASA stated that the elections systems at the IEBC had been hacked and thus the results streaming in could not be trusted. NASA Presidential candidate Raila Odinga called for the country to remain calm as a solution was sought on the matter.
