Description

Ford Kenya Kakamega Gubernatorial Candidate Dr. Boni Khalwale casts his ballot at Malinya Primary School polling station in Ikolomani. Arriving at the station at exactly 7:00 AM on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, the outgoing Senator was among the first voters to exercise their democratic right. Speaking to the press shortly after voting, Khalwale expressed confidence in a landslide victory against the incumbent, Wycliffe Oparanya, while urging the IEBC to ensure the electronic transmission of results remained foolproof. He lauded the peaceful atmosphere in his Ikolomani stronghold and called on his supporters to remain vigilant throughout the counting process. Khalwale, a veteran politician known as the “Bullfighter,” emphasized that his campaign was centered on accountability and the equitable distribution of devolved funds, promising a “new dawn” for Kakamega County. August 8, 2017.
