October 19, 1990: Former Legislator Koigi wa Wamwere (in glasses) who was arrested about two weeks ago after he reportedly sneaked into Kenya from self –exile from Norway is charged with treason. The former Nakuru North MP was charged along with two lawyers – Mr. Rumba Kinuthia, of Nairobi, and Mr. Mirugi Kariuki, of Nakuru, both of whom have been in custody for the last 11 days – and a young Mr. Geoffrey Kuga Kariuki.
