Gichugu MP Martha Karua on November 03, 2011, addressing participants at Nairobi Railway Club Nairobi who attended a Women Forum. The Narck Kenya party chairperson called on women to aim for occupying half of the elective seats in the upcoming General Election.

Ms. Martha Karua said that this may increase their chances of achieving the two-thirds gender balance set by the constitution.

“The 47 county seats will not give us the numbers, that will only give us a head start but will not get us the numbers we need,”.
