Description

On April 27, 1965, the Kenya Government blueprint for African Socialism is revealed as a closely argued original programme for rapid development, which rejects the “blanket” measures of extreme socialism and refuses to compromise on social justice to achieve more quickly the country’s material end. It outlines a realistic programme of measures for a “range of controls” over the use of national resources, aimed to harness the abilities of all citizens to the development of Kenya and to ensure a share in its achievements to all Kenyans. The document. entitled Sessional Paper No. 10, defines African Socialism for the first time.
