Description

August 1, 1995: The Kenyan Government accused Britain’s Overseas Development Minister, Baroness Lynda Chalker, of breaching diplomatic etiquette during her visit to Kenya. In a strongly worded statement, the Government said her decision to address the media before meeting President Daniel Arap Moi was “impolite and contemptuous,” warning that her conduct could strain relations with Britain and affect ongoing political and economic reforms.
