March 1, 1996: President Moi and the three main Opposition leaders hold a rare three-hour meeting at State House, Nairobi. The FORD Kenya National Chairman, Mr. Michael Kijana Wamalwa, Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) Chairman, Mr Mwai Kibaki, and Mr Martin Shikuku of FORD Asili met with the Head of State after years of futile attempts. The three are the pillars behind the recently launched Opposition Alliance.
