Tourism CS Najib Balala launches the national recovery and action plan for the endangered mountain bongos at the Mt Kenya wildlife conservancy on July 8, 2019. The conservation plan aims at increasing their population from the current 96 to 730 bongos in the next fifty years. There are about 650 bongos globally.
