Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru addresses traders after the official opening of the upgraded Kibingoti market on February 11, 2021. The Governor, whose administration had upgraded 11 markets at that time, urged the central region to accept the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) proposal, stating it would guarantee national stability and provide Kirinyaga County with significantly more resources (from Ksh. 4.8 billion to Ksh. 8 billion).
