March 23, 1983: The High Court discharges Mr. Raila Amolo Odinga, a son of former Vice-President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, and a former ‘Sunday Standard’ assistant managing editor, Mr. Otieno Mak ’Onyango, on charges of plotting to overthrow the government of President Daniel Arap Moi on August 1, 1982.
